I just got back from Quebec City where Hockey Canada's AGM was held in conjunction with the Men's World Championships. As the player's rep for the Women's National Team, I have a seat on the Board of Hockey Canada and therefore have to attend their meetings throughout the year culminating with the AGM at the end of the season.

Generally, they're not much to write home about, just long days and lots of policy decisions. But this...

The fact that criminal charges were not laid in the wake of the much-publicized brawl between two teams of eight-year-olds at a tournament in Guelph, Ontario, does not mean there shouldn't be indictments.  Not criminal indictments, but those of the moral and ethical category.

Coaches not charged in novice hockey brawl

Police say no criminal charges will be laid against adult coaches who allegedly assaulted each other during a hockey brawl involving eight-year-old players in Guelph, Ont.
 
After investigating the incident, speaking to witnesses and reviewing a videotape showing the fight, Guelph police say the incident will be better handled by the two teams' minor hockey associations.
 
The fight and ensuing controversy have made national headlines after the on-ice fight Nov. 23.
 
Police allege a small fight between the members of the Duffield Devils and Niagara Falls Thunder during a novice AAA game turned ugly when both coaches sent more players off the bench to join in.
