Statements made by Todd Bertuzzi and Vancouver Canucks general manager Dave Nonis relating to the $38 million lawsuit filed by Steve Moore were made public Tuesday by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
In his own testimony, Bertuzzi admitted Marc Crawford, then the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, suggested during the second period intermission that Moore had to "pay the price" for a perceived elbow on captain Markus Naslund in an earlier game.
He said he was influenced by Crawford's comments and, in the third period, jumped Moore from behind.
Bertuzzi added he felt bad for the injuries Moore sustained in the March 2004 attack, including a broken neck.
More to follow.
